This piece explores the idea of an ecosystem, that every living being depends on others and that an action always elicits a reaction. For this we have a microphone and a transducer both on a bass drum and on a timpani. This creates two different worlds that depend, interact and communicate with each other. By manipulating the vibration of the bass drum’s transducer with a superball, singing, controlling the feedback, bowing a crotale while walking or playing with the timpani’s pedal, we create an ecosystem of sound that works together with our listening. 

The title un leve trueno, or a slight thunder, is taken from a poem by Marosa DiGiorgio that is integrated on the book Los papeles salvajes.
